About Mambo Tutorials

Recently, in the Mambo forums, a Mambo user asked Elpie if she would write some tutorials. Elpie took up the challenge and this site was born.

Mambo Tutorials is focused on providing help to users of the Mambo open source content management system. Much of the information on this site is related to optimising web sites for both human visitors and search engines and is applicable to any web site, not just those using Mambo.

Mambo Tutorials also provides news and views on happenings in the Mambo world. It is not, however, a substitute for Mambo's official documentation or wiki (both of which I am contributing to). This site is all about Maximising Mambo and focuses most strongly on optimising both your experience as a Mambo user and your site.

Lynne Pope, aka "Elpie" is a professional web site designer & developer, who creates hi-impact and cost-effective web sites for New Zealand and international companies, businesses, and organisations.

Lynne has been involved with the web for more years than she cares to remember and has been involved with several open source projects since the mid-1990's. In 2003, Lynne discovered the Mambo open source content management system which has become a staple component of the work she has been doing ever since.

Open source software is a passion and Lynne both uses and contributes back to the development of open source software. Users of the Mambo forums and documentation will know that "Elpie" is a significant contributor to Mambo. She has been on the Mambo core development team since 2006 and is currently president of the Mambo Foundation, Inc.. She has also been involved in Joomla! development and has been a contributor to a number of other open source software development projects. In 2007, Lynne was a finalist in the New Zealand Open Source Awards.
